Bay Garnett x HERD

The moment I heard the HERD story and how their wool is made from blue-faced sheep in Northern England, I fell in love. It's one of the most sustainable clothing stories I’ve heard. The wool is thick, natural, earthy, and strong. When co-designing this collection with HERD, I was inspired by the cool rock n’ roll look and spirit of the 1970s. The collection is also very much inspired by Jackie Onassis and Jane Birkin’s cool, pared-back, narrow, elegant 70s style chic. I always loved those pictures of Jackie Onassis walking to work in Central Park; ribbed roll neck, low slung belt and gold chain necklace. Hard to beat -  I wanted sweaters with that same appeal. Anita Pallenberg's chunky sweaters with gold buttons also inspired me; blending heritage and rock n’ roll. Peggy Lipton's belted cardigans influenced our design, and I included a belt copied from one Anita gave me." Bay Garnett
