Quince Vest in Cream Canvas

The Quince Vest is named for the bold, traditional fruit tree with curly leaves common in old English orchards. The Quince Vest is a beautifully simple and elegant top for wearing with everything all season in an undyed, dense cotton fabric. The straps are wide and adorned with a frill, also around the scooped neck. Wear with everything from jeans to our Pippin Skirt. 

Herd’s S/S Collection deepens our connection to nature and its seasonal rhythms with the introduction of hand-loomed, plant-dyed cottons from Japan and India. Dyed, spun and woven in their country of origin these fabrics sit alongside our British wool and leather which represent centuries-old textile heritage, native materials in their natural ecosystems and multi-generational skills handed down family lines. Herd’s philosophy is to replenish and nourish the soil, landscape, animals and craftspeople we work with along the way. Our fabrics, grown from the soil and processed without toxic chemicals, can return gently to the soil - a ‘soil to soil’ system by which all our products are made.

S/S25 is named the Pomona Collection, for the goddess of fruit trees, gardens, and orchards. It is inspired by a life lived outdoors in the rhythms of the seasons.

Detail - The Quince Vest is mid-length to below the waist to be belted or not. Slightly fitted at the waist and with darts at the check for an elegant fit. Frills are doubled over. 

Fabric - The Quince Vest in Cream Canvas is made of handloomed cotton (not sheer) and undyed. We work with textile artisans, who abide by the principle of seed to cloth using natural and traditional methods within their appellation. The fabric is grown and made from seed to fabric in Japan. 

Proudly hand-cut, sewn and finished in our studio partner based North of London.

Washing - Cool wash with similar colours. Line dry. Cool iron if desired. 

Size & fit - The Quince Vest is true to size. Model wears a size Small.
