Russet Tunic in Khadi Denim

The Russet Tunic is named for the heritage apple variety, found in old English orchards.  The Russet Tunic has a deep V-neck with three corozo nut buttons. Sleeves are wrist length but easy to roll up. It has a broad collar backed with the inside of the exceptionally special Mudcloth. It is a stylish top made of dense, handloomed cotton - easy to belt or not, the ideal layer for the season. 

Herd’s S/S Collection deepens our connection to nature and its seasonal rhythms with the introduction of hand-loomed, plant-dyed cottons from Japan and India. Dyed, spun and woven in their country of origin these fabrics sit alongside our British wool and leather which represent centuries-old textile heritage, native materials in their natural ecosystems and multi-generational skills handed down family lines. Herd’s philosophy is to replenish and nourish the soil, landscape, animals and craftspeople we work with along the way. Our fabrics, grown from the soil and processed without toxic chemicals, can return gently to the soil - a ‘soil to soil’ system by which all our products are made.

S/S25 is named the Pomona Collection, for the goddess of fruit trees, gardens, and orchards. It is inspired by a life lived in the rhythms of the seasons.

Fabric - The Russet Tunic is made of cotton denim, and dyed using both natural and synthetic indigo (to stabilise the plant). Made by textile artisans, who abide by the principle of seed to cloth, using natural and traditional methods within their appellation. The fabric is grown and made from seed to fabric in Japan.

Washing - Cool wash with similar colours. Line dry. Cool iron if desired. 

Size & fit - The Russet Tunic is true to size. Model wears a size Small.
